On January 24, 2026, the 18th Tsukuba 3E Forum will be held. Under the theme “Shaping Communities Beyond the SDGs,” we will discuss the ways to create sustainable communities.

Event

The Tsukuba 3E Forum was established in 2007 through the collaboration of universities, research institutions, and local governments with the aim of conducting research to develop Tsukuba City as an energy-efficient, low-carbon science city, based on the Tsukuba Eco-City concept. It operates as an open ‘forum’ for discussion. Task forces are set up within the forum to propose technologies and systems, which are then recommended to Tsukuba City and other entities and put into practice to realize the eco-city. The 18th meeting of the forum will focus on “The Form of Local Communities Looking Beyond the SDGs,” where representatives from municipalities selected as SDGs Future Cities or leading regions in decarbonization will present their initiatives, and we will explore what sustainable local communities should look like. We look forward to your participation.
