The National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science is the core research institute of the livestock industry in Japan. It aims at developing the technologies to increase the productivity of safe and high quality animal products and improve the self-sufficiency in feed by utilizing land resources effectively. To achieve the aims, the Institute conducts the comprehensive research on production and use of forage crops, animal production, evaluation and processing of animal products and processing and utilization of animal wastes.
